Canada Trip June 2017!

In June of this year, 2017, two of the most incredible things happened to me..

  1. I graduated from high-school!
  2. I had the one in a lifetime opportunity to travel to the Western side of Canada with the most important people in my life, my grandmother, mother, cousin, aunt and best friend.

There is so much to say about Canada, so much positive things to say about Canada! I do not think I have one negative thing to say about this incredible country.

My family and left to Canada on June ninth 2017, the day after graduation. I had never been to any other place in North America other than a couple places in the United States and Mexico.

We spent eleven days in the providence of Alberta. We arrived to Calgary and left the next day upon arrival to Banff. Banff.. Banff.. Banff.. Definitely, hands down, my favorite place I have ever visited. If you come across  the opportunity to travel to Banff, Alberta, I highly recommend it. It is a little town surrounded by beautiful landscapes, people, mountains, and wildlife.

I have never meet such nice people in my life.. I am not trying to be sarcastic or dramatic, I am so serious! The people who live in Banff or at least the people I met who were currently residing there for a while due to the incredible weather and so much more; were all so sweet and just, genuinely nice.

If you have ever been to a small mom & pop’ styled store (which I am pretty sure almost everybody has been at some point in your lifetime) you would know that although you would love to look around even though you know you cannot or will not be purchasing anything some type of self-conciousness feeling raids your body when the employees are staring at you walking around and although they do not say anything other than “if you need help with anything let us know” or “is there something specific you are looking for?” you.. deep inside know they get frustrated every. single. time. somebody walks in to just “look around.” You see for the first time in my life I did not feel pressured in any way, shape or form to buy something or not want to go into a store because of this; in Banff they literally encourage you to come in with such genuineness and kindness even when you walk out empty-handed.

After a couple hours of walking around Banff, I caught on to different dialects of the English language around me and asked where a couple folks were from; most of the answers I received were Australia, England, Switzerland or New Zealand. At a restaurant we decided to eat at for dinner the first night; I asked the waitress what brought her to Banff from Australia and she was very sweet about it and gave us her yearly plans that she has been following for a couple years now; during summer time every year she comes to Banff from Queensland to work, study online and adventure Banff and other parts of the world. She said it is the greatest thing and what she looks forward to the most every year.
